Back for the fourth time
come decompress with us at A Writers Party 2026
Josh Dale (of Thirty West Publishing House) and I are putting together the 4th annual iteration of a writers party (a series of events happening online and in Philly as an alternative to AWP) and we’re accepting events and workshop proposals.
Everything is free! Everything is produced by our fellow literary community members! Everything is fun and created with you in mind! If you would like to participate, we would love to have you! Think of Josh and I as cruise directors on a ship comunally operated by you and a bunch of friends you’ve yet to meet.
A Writers Party 2026 will take place March 18th through March 22nd, two weeks after the actual AWP as a sort of “decompression” for anyone going to Baltimore for the offsites or the actual conference or whatever.
This past year’s series was baller. We had five days full of workshops, live readings, and panels. I know 2026 will produce a festival equal to or greater than.
To quote myself describing the ethos behind A Writers Party 2025, and remains the ethos of what you can expect for A Writers Party 2026:
I think it’s important to be a good literary citizen, and part of that (for me, at least) means making literary events and writing workshops accessible to everyone and anyone. Don’t get me wrong, AWP is fun, and I’ve gotten to meet a ton of wonderful writers and friends by attending over the years, but I also realize and understand that not everyone can afford to travel or take time off work for the big, corporate-funded writing conference. For those of us who want to participate in something literary and community-oriented, may I please present to you A Writers Party <3
We hope you can join us, and create with us. We’re looking forward to reading your workshop and event proposals. The link to submit a proposal is here.
Please feel free to reach out to me directly with any questions.

Absolutely can’t wait for more Writer Parties!
